A word about regulation in Arkansas—

The state of Arkansas treats all security companies alike: If you do business in Arkansas, you must be licensed.

Regardless if you are licensed in another state, or are operating as a referral service, if you perform security services in Arkansas, you must be licensed with the Arkansas Board of Private Investigators and Private Security Companies.

Subchapter 2, Section 17-40-305 requires out-of-state security companies to be licensed in the state before contracting or subcontracting with a state-licensed company.

It shall be unlawful and punishable as provided in § 17-40-104 for any person to engage in the business of, or perform any service as, a private investigator, security services contractor, or alarm systems company, or to offer his or her services in those capacities or engage in any business or business activity required to be licensed by this chapter unless he or she has obtained a license under the provisions of this chapter.
